ieee 1394 firewire

Posted: 07-09-2003, 12:45 PM
Hi,
I posted about this once, here is the problem.
Win XP home edtion.
I installed a IEEE 1394 card.
Problem:
After installing firewire card, loose internet setting on
Realtek nic - yes have latest driver for it.

The IEEE 1394 card is made by BAFO industries. It has a
VIA OHCI compliant host controller. No rply from them.

The only way have i have gotten it to work. The Nic and
firewire card, is to do a "system restore", then as soon
as Win XP starts, start IE. Then I have internet.

The thing is, Win then pops up and says new device found -
The firewire card.
If I go an open a new instance of IE, it cannot find the
realtek nic.

Go to Device manager - see IEEE 1394 listed on the Network
line. Disable it. Reboot - No internet on the realtek nic.
Somehow , someway, XP is assinging the IEEE 1394 card as
my internet connection.

Thanks in advance,
Keith
