RE: importing music files from Win Media Player

I'm trying to make a slide show in MovieMaker, but when I
went to import files from my playlist on Windows Media
Player, I received a message saying MovieMaker won't
support that file. Does anyone know how I can import
music into MovieMaker projects that I've already
downloaded to WMP?

What type of Media file is it?

Hi Trayce,

There are a number of free programs around that will convert to the WAV
format. Audacity available from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ might be
your best option.

You may have problems if you had Digital Rights Management turned on when
you acquired your music. You can recover the music by burning it to a CD
and then rip it back to your hard drive using Audacity or Windows Media
Player (with Digital Rights Management turned off)
