Install on Asus P4P800, SATA non-RAID drive

I am installing from DVD to 2nd partition with XP on 1st partition. Setup
runs ok until the first reboot, then all I get is a blank screen and blinking
cursor. If I install XP on the 2nd partition and then upgrade to Vista, it
works fine. I also loaded the Asus P4p800 CD during setup, but it didn't find
any needed drivers.

Follow-up: I experimented with options in the bios setup, and was able to
install the x86 Vista beta 2 by changing the IDE Configuration from Enhanced
mode for S-ATA to Compatibility mode for P-ATA. After the first boot, Vista
continued successfully.
