Install Vista Using Recovery Discs? Possible?

Posted: 01-17-2009, 02:05 AM

Hi guys,
recently my computer running Vista Home Premium crashed. I suspect this
is a video card error. it seems that I do not have enough graphics power
to boot me into the login screen....
However, after using Ulimate boot cd for windows, it boots me into a
kind of "temporary xp". Unfortunately I cannot update my driver because
this boot cd does not allow me to...
I have some XP install discs and I was going to install xp instead so
that I can update my video card driver. I also have recovery discs of my
Vista that were made prior to the crash.
So I was just wondering if it is posible to install XP onto my
computer, and if successful; I will update my driver. However, I would
like Vista to be installed once the driver is fixed; so is it possible
to install Vista OS using the recovery discs alone?
Thank you for your time.
