Install win_XP on a new compoter with win_Vista.

I have a new laptop with windows Vista, but I need install windows XP on
this. I had deleted partitions, formated hard drive (even in FAT32), but when
I try to install windows XP the system allways show a message informisg me
that the system does not find any hard drive.
I had restarted the computer with a boot cd, and I had runed the partition
magic, and everything seems OK.
Whar can I do to install ONLY WIN XP in this computer?

Thank you very much ¡

Contact the manufacturer of your new computer
and ask if your new computer is compatible with
Windows XP.

If the laptop manufacturer does not support XP and have drivers available
you will not be able to use it - stop here.

It there are XP drivers:
You probably have a SATA (Serial ATA) drive in the laptop. XP does not
include SATA drivers. Some machines have BIOS options to emulate a PATA
drive, otherwise, you will need an XP SATA driver from the manufacturer.
You will also need the XP device drivers for other devices Using the SATA
driver in an XP install can get quite complicated in the absence of a floppy
drive - the intended way to use them during the installation. See

for some further information.

It's apparent that the WinXP installation CD doesn't have the
necessary drivers for the IDE/SATA controller (and probably not for any
of the other components) built-in to the new computer. Very early in
the boot process, just after having booted from the WinXP CD, the screen
will display the words to the effect: "Setup is examining your system."
Press <F6> when this happens, and have the *manufacturer's*
WinXP-specific drivers for your IDE/SATA controller available on a
floppy disk.

There could be a couple possible adverse repercussions to this
downgrade, however, of which you should be aware. First and foremost, if
the specific computer model in question was designed specifically for
Vista, there may very well be *NO* WinXP-specific device drivers
available to make the computer's diverse components work properly.
Consult the computer's manufacturer about the availability of device
drivers. Secondly, removing an OEM-installed operating system and
replacing it with another will almost invariably void any and all
support agreements and, sometimes, even the warranty. You would, at the
very least, have to re-install Vista before getting any support from the
manufacturer. Again, consult the computer's manufacturer for specifics.
