Installation of CREATIVE Modem Blaster

When viewing Device Manageer Properties for the newly installed FAX
modem on my XPpro computer, it says Under the Modem tab: Port COM3
and at Dial Control the box for Wait for dial tone before dialing is
checked.

I am confused about the COM port number, because there is only one
serial COM port on my DELL XPS pc.

While attempting to send a FAX document from Word Perfect12, WP12
tells me that the fax is being sent, but when I lift the aux telephone
handset, I am hearing only a dial tone, no faxing tones. Should the
Wait for dial tone before dialing box be checked ?
