Installing BETA onto my Laptop

Posted: 05-04-2006, 01:39 PM
Hi again

I am thinking about installing vista onto the last space on my laptop
(10gb), what are the chances it will cock something else on the system up?
E.g. I cannot have the EISA Utility partition deleted, and do not want to
reinstall

Tom

If you prepare (i.e., define and format) the partition for Vista beforehand,
there's no reason why it would screw up anything, anymore than on a desktop.

operating system install) and my coursework - then set the install going...

I would launch setup from within an existing version of Windows.

Well don't hold your breath, Windows XP Professional and Home still cost
$300 and $200, $200 and $99 (upgrade) respectively. But it should be cheaper
through OEM if you purchase it with qualifying hardware such as a
motherboard.

I think the new OEM EULA does not specify peripheral devices such as Mous
and Keyboard as qualifying system hardware. Windows license is tied to the
System board. Thats why you can't install a Dell, HP or Gateway copy of
Windows on a generic system.
