installing Brother card writer module and ports

Posted: 07-06-2003, 09:04 PM
I am trying to reinstall a Brother PE Design 3.0 version
software for an embroidery card writer module. At one
time it loaded just fine but I have had to go back
several times and repair my Windows XP and for some
reason this program will not recognize the card writer
module on any port. I checked my modem and it is on COM3
and the card writer is supposed to be on COM1 or Com2 but
shows nothing being programed on these ports. Can anyone
help me find out why this software is not recognizing the
COM1 and Com2 ports? The error message I get is "Card
writer module not connected. Connect and make sure power
is on." The adapter is plugged in and it is attached to
the computer. I have tried other adapters just in case
this one is bad but no other adapter for power works
either.
