Default Installing Software\Programs

All of a sudden I get the following when I try to install a program:

c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt, the system is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

I am using XP PRO.

Thanks for any help

The autoexec.nt file is corrupt or missing from the \system32 folder. Look
in \windows\repair for another copy and copy it to \system32.
