Default installing webcam

Can anyone help me with is problem. I have a zoomcam m1598 but no matter
what I do it will just not work. I have checked the manufacturers
site, downloaded drivers etc ,all I get on screen is the set up but it is in
safe mode also in control panel it shows as downloaded even although it is
not working . would be grateful for any help on this matter.
Thank-you
Kathy

A suggestion: open the Device Manager and BE SURE that the device is
enabled. Also see if Windows thinks the item is working properly.
