By installing Windows Vista RC1, am I going to lose my stuff?

you have to assume that you will lose everything. read the release
notes. You have to understand that this is a beta program and not a
final product. If you cant afford to lose the information on your
computer dont even think about installing it. If this is your only
computer dont install it. But if you are really interested in checking
out vista and dont mind reinstalling things backup your files and
enjoy. Be sure to read the release notes very carefully before you
install.
