internet connection

When brousing the internet (cable modem) my connection
will freeze. I can fix it temporarily by going to
network connections and "repairing" the connection.
I have reset the modem, run the wizard without
improvement.
This began after haviing to reload windows xp after a
virus.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

If I try to connect directly after boot...ok, no problem.
If I try to connect after Windoiws XP has been running
awhile, ng...cannot connect to the web. Have to restart in
order to connect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi everybody,

I connect to the internet thru my modem. Sometimes when I
am on-line my computer disconnects from my usual
connetion and then dials a connection in a foreign
country. I am not able to stop the process unless I re-
start the computer. I have scanned my computer with
Norton but no virus is detected.

Can someone tell me what is going on and how to prevent
it from happening?

Thank you.

When you visit a site and it wants money from you, it
will sometimes hang up your existing dial up and have it
redial to its host site via a chargeable number. That is
how they make money for you viewing their site. It is
charged to your phone bill.

Hi!
It might be a virus as well as a problem with your internet connection in
particular. Try contacting your Internet Service Provider for them to check
your connection.
If this keeps hapening repost and we'll figure something out.

Hope this helps,
Teo

Using Windows XP - when I connect to the internet my
connection lasts about 3-4 minutes then an error message
shows saying "NT Authority/system - Windows will close
down in 60 seconds...." and shuts down the computer and re-
starts. This only happens when connected to the net. Any
help would be hreatly appreciated.

Cheers

I have just upgraded from XP home To XP pro and everything
is working fine except my dial up connection had gone and
I can't re connect because my Remote access manager will
not start. I have tried to start it in "services" but it
will not connect.
Can anyone help?

After being online for a short while I get a message
appear saying; NT Authority\System is shutting down your
computer due to the Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Does
anyone know what this means and why it is doing it?
