Gateway should have to correct it. Your OS is OEM not retail. Microsoft
will have you call them. Call GW support back and take to a manager.

Loni;
Since what the Product Key matches the stolen Product Key, and you got
Windows XP Pro from Gateway, you need to call Gateway.

Have you or anyone else reinstalled Windows XP since receiving the
computer?
If yes, did you use the Gateway operating system CD as well as the
Product Key affixed to the side of the computer?

If you have not done so, reload using the Product Key.

In any case, since it is OEM, Microsoft can not help unless you want
to report piracy:

Greetings --

That Product ID isn't the result of an OEM installation. I
suspect a couple salient facts about the true origin of the PC where
left out of the original post.
