Invalid Syntax Error in Users and Groups MMC

Posted: 01-15-2008, 08:55 PM
This question was posed before by another developer back in December, but it
was never addressed. I am seeing an Invalid Syntax error when trying to
access the Users and Groups section of the MMC. I am using the same version
of the tools as the previous user (2.00.0807) however ours is the purchased
version. I do have the 2007 Feature Pack installed, but I have not yet tried
the December Update Rollup 1.0. If anybody knows anything about this issue, I
would love to hear it.

Try to add the following components:
1. MSXML 2.6 (I remember MSXML 3.1 is getting added automatically by many components, however 2.6 seems to be the fix for the
..mmc)
2. Make sure "Administration Support Tools" component with all its dependencies resolved is added to your configuration.

Let us know if this helped.

I had MSXML 3.1 and the MSXML Libraries in the configuration already. Like
you said, some other component listed it as a dependency and it was added
during the dependency check. I added the 2.6 version into my configuration
and also double checked that there were no unresolved dependencies with
Administration Support Tools, there were none. I tested the new image and it
was still giving the same error. Thanks for the help though, and if you have
any other suggestions, I look forward to hearing them. I'm just running out
of ideas.
