Invisible Faxes

Posted: 09-02-2005, 12:41 PM
Hi,
I am running XP Pro and have been successfully receiving faxes using Fax
Console for about 6mths. Now when I view my inbox, no received faxes are
viewable, even though i know that there are some there, and that it is still
receiving them. At the bottom of the screen it also says "7 items", although
none can be seen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as there are
should be some important faxes in there!

Many Thanks,
Karl

What happens when you look at your Inbox Folder in Windows Explorer?
<drive>:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\MSFax\

I can view the .tifs fine from there, and the number of items correlates with
what the fax console is telling me should be there, they are just not visible
from the console. At least i can access the faxes directly that way.

I've seen the Fax Console's Inbox act up like this if there is a corrupt
file in it or after it reaches a large size.
Unless you want to try to search for a corrupt file, you might just want to
start a new folder for saving your received faxes.

Since I've changed the folder, any new faxes are visible.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Karl

Just curious. How many faxes were in your original Inbox folder before it
started to act up?
