I have an V.90 Intel Ambient HaM Modem (MD5628D) which is
causing Windows XP Pro to hang on shutdown. This is a
documented problem which SP1 was supposed to fix. But it
hasn't. I have tried everything I can think of including
the suggestions at
http://aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp/php
as well more recent Intel drivers and even a complete
reinstallation of XP. All to no avail. Disabling the
modem is the only thing which works. I'm about to buy a
new modem as a last resort. Has anyone out there actually
solved this problem another way?
