is there a fast free anonymous proxy server?

Hi, I want to use an anonymous proxy server. However, at the last time I
tried one of the server, it made my internet connection very very slow.
I am looking for an anonymous proxy server which is free, anonymous, and
fast enogh for internet surfing.
I understand I am asking a lot, but I simply don't have enough money
to have a paid proxy server.

Why on earth do you want to use an anonymous proxy server? Usually these
are not as anonymous as people tend to think.

Huh? One question. Are you looking for someone that is running an anonymous
that you can go through, or are you asking whats out there that "You" can run?

If you want one you can run, try Squid. Its Linux based and Free.
