iTunes vs Quicktime

OK, how can your downloaded mp3 from newsgroups be mapped to QT and not
iTunes. I would really like to just click on one and have it open
without the entire iTunes opening up.

thanks

Do a 'Get Info' on such a file. Click the 'Open with' triangle. Choose
QuickTime Player from the pop-up. If you want to open every mp3 on your
disk with QT Player, click the 'Change All..." button.

You now mapped every file with the .mp3 extension to QT Player.

Why not just put iTunes in the "mini player" mode? It's right there in
iTunes' menu.
