Default Joining an existing Windows XP network

I am running Windows Vista Build 5456 and am having a great deal of
difficulty joining my existing home network. I can access the internet and
can "see" and access the router but am unable to access the other computers
on my network and the other computers cannot access the Vista computer.

I looked for a networking wizard (like the one in XP) but could not find it.
I tried resetting all of my other computers network settings (no luck). I
have tried everything I can think of and still cannot access the rest of my
network (including a networked printer connected to another computer).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you changed the default name to that of your workgroup name?
I know that's an silly question, but you'd be surprised at how many people
forget to do just that.

If you are running 5456 then you are in the TechBeta (better be or you got
5456 improperly) and should be posting this to a newsgroup on the
betanews.microsoft.com servers. The folks here are still running 5384 and
some of them are mighty sensitive about not having access to 5456.
