....along with a nice shiney DX10 graphics card. But wait! Where's
DX10? And what about the games - when are they coming out? So just
HOW long do we have to wait?
Methinks MS have mislead me. Isn't that unlawful?

Soon. Very soon. You did the right thing, no doubt about it.

They should be coming out at any time. No MS didn't mislead you. It is ready
for DX10 games, and only Vista has DX10. They aren't the ones making all the
games. Some, like FSX, are made by Microsoft but a patch coming at the end
of the year will bring DX10 features to it.

Crysis is going to be DX10, as is the next Unreal release.

But, MS never promised games to be released supporting the new DX10 at
launch. But, don't be too disappointed, all your current games will run
faster than using anything else on the market (speaking for the video
card!).

Hmmm, Not sure how Microsoft mislead you. They didn't promise DX10 games the
day Vista was released.

I've heard on tomshardware, that Crysis looks 90% as good under DX9.0c as it
does in DX10. In a CPU magazine article, Bungie said that Halo 2 is actually
a DX9.0c game, and that people just assume it's DX10 because it's a Vista
only release.
Probably should have waited on the DX10 card, as you don't have ATI's
offering and even if you stick with nVidia, the price probably would have
dropped.

I'd say a big shame on you for not looking to see there wasn't any DX10
games out yet.

OBTW, I think at least some, if not all the game developers\Publishers are
waiting for ATI to release their cards, before releasing their DX10 games or
updates.

Supreme Commander is billed as DX10 game, it has the Games for Windows
Certification, but it will be another couple of months before they release
the DX10 patch. Now I wonder why they didn't release the DX10 version at the
same time. If All the DX10 games and patches start popping up a week after
ATI's May launch of their card, then we'll know. it was a plot by the man!

They also said with Crysis to not play it or look at it on DX10 hardware
then go back to DX9. It such a difference that you won't be happy going back
to DX9. I am really looking forward to this game. I was (am) a big fan of
Far Cry and Crysis is going to be awesome... As long as they include some
awesome gameplay to go with the pretty graphics.

Yea, I'm hoping NVIDIA get's their act together and gets some decent drivers
out. I would have bought an 8800, but I'm holding off until better drivers
come out. If ATI releases their card soon with decent drivers, then I may
have to buy the competition. I like ATI, and I like NVIDIA. But, I'll buy
the better card with no brand loyalty on this one. Right now, the better
card is ATI, because it works. May not be the fastest, but it works.

I'm with you, I've got 8800GTX money burning a hole in pocket, but after
reading all the problems. I'll be sticking with ATI for a while. May is ATI
released date for the X2900 series (assuming they don't push back again),
and looking at some reported specs, they have that card with 1GB of ram,
that if nothing else, just has that coolness factor to it. I'm also, wanting
to see what their Dual Core card does, assuming it really exists.

But I heard nVidia has already got the 8900 ready for release when ATI comes
out, So I'm hoping for 2 things. 1.) they perform identically (meaning both
are blistering fast) and 2. They have a bloody price war that would kill
most companies
