just what is WUPDATER.EXE

I see this when I close down XP have no idea what it is also have a problem
on startup it seems I cant get to my taskbar I have it set to hide but
nothing happens and no shortcut keys that use the windows logo key ? any
help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance??

wupdater.exe = Windows Updater execute. Have fun

You are not being clear. What are you seeing? Please give contents of any
error message. Simply telling us you see wupdater.exe on shutdown doesn't
help.

As to the taskbar, is this a permanent issue or are you only unable to
access it for a brief time after you boot after which you then have no
problem with it?
