Kristan
I have the KB941600 USB fix installed and confirm that I have exactl
the problem you describe (Vista Ultimate 32-bit)

I regularly run sfc /scannow just to check that things are still ok.
got the following result yesterday

-Verification 99% complete. Windows Resource Protection found files bu
was unable to fix some of them

-I re-ran sfc /scannow and got a BSO

I renamed out *cbs.log* to *cbs.log.AfterBSOD* and re-ran sfc /scannow
This produced a new *cbs.log *with the same worrying message

-Verification 99% complete. Windows Resource Protection found files bu
was unable to fix some of them.

-As documented in KB929833, I searched both log files for the followin
string

-Cannot repair member fil

-This string was not found in either log file

As documented in KB928228 I searched both log files for the string

-Repairing corrupted file

This string was not found either.

In summary, SFC runs to 99% completion, reports problems, but does no
identify any. I am not aware of any problems with my PC at the moment
I have reported the problem to Microsoft CSS but have not received
response yet
