| I have 3 PCs in my home. My main PC runs XP Home edition and had a pc-card wireless connection to the internet (pccard connects to an antenna on the roof). The other PCs are running Millenium & Win98. They all connected just fine and shared the internet without a hitch. Then, in the last couple of weeks, the internet connection started acting up. I enjoy playing Battlefield 1942 online, but could only play about 15 minutes before the connection would be interrupted. I also had the same problem with downloads, etc.. The PC would often freeze trying to find the connection. I discovered that the green LED on the pc-card would often go out. Also, the pigtail connection finally came loose. So I called my ISP and they came out and replaced the card with a USB Ornico Wireless adapter that again connected to the antenna. They had to come back twice because the connection would allow me to browse, but BF1942 and other internet connecting programs (Audible, GameSpy) would not connect. When that happened, I could not browse either. I also no longer had a home network and could not share the internet with the other PCs. I would constantly get a DNS lookup on Mozilla, and could not connect with Iexplorer or Netscape. I used the new connection wizard to tell the system to use a broadband connection several times, but to no avail. I also ran the network wizard and actually got everything working great as far as the internet was concerned with my main PC, but could not share the connection or browse the network. I then had to screw it up by trying to get the home network going again and now I have no internet. I've even tried things manually with the IP addresses, DNS, and gateway. I have been able to get the network working this way but not the internet. I also have a firewire card and it shows as a network connection. I've tried disabling it, disabling the network card, running the net wizard in safe mode, etc.. I am now at a loss. I am an MCSE in NT4 and feel like an absolute idiot. I did a network & internet share install yesterday with 2 PCs (one XP Home and the other Millenium) and a DSL modem and had no problems at all. It was for my church so maybe God helped with that. But when I work on my own system, I suck. Can you help me? | Guest

| Unfortunately I know zero about wireless. Other people on this forum would have better info. -- Ken Wickes [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. "Mike Mortimore" <mmortmr@trib.com> wrote in message news:06d401c35dd4$fd5ce780$a001280a@phx.gbl... Quote:
