Keyboard issues

Posted: 09-27-2007, 07:20 AM
Hello all,
I am having (issues) with my keyboard / keystrokes, I have a HP DV6000, the
problem is in IE7 or any other program when I am typing text the strokes
don't register as written, even if I go back and retype it still misses
letters. I have readjusted the setting for sensitivity and all but it is
like it hangs up and skips letters. Especially in the search windows, in
sentences it will drop six or seven letters and at times I will have to
really stand on a key to make it appear the cursor blinks erratically in IE
7, as well as the Mail program the dropping of letters happens erratically
as well. I will go for a whole day or two without problems then bam every
other word drops. I check the device manager and searched for updates but
none for the keyboard. Anybody else have this problem?

TIA, Marc

Hi,

I use a DV6000 all the time without this issue. If it is happening in all
applications and occurs randomly, then I would suspect it is a hardware
issue. You may want to contact HP about having warranty work done on it.

Then pull the hard drive before you send it back to HP. If they insist
on having the hard drive, image it first to an external hard drive with
a program like Acronis True Image.

I am trying to post a ne w question but all I get is an exclaimation and a
click... I too have this problem below. Typing in any form on the internet
explorer only in the Google talk boxes, in the address bar or anything within
IE 7 (except here!) I have this issue of jumping back to the middle of a word
after every couple of correctly typed words.... it happens at random and
especially after typing a few letters after hitting the enter or shift keys.
I updated my driver...it is a new Gateway with Vista installed. very
frustrating indeed. It just did it! Happened with the period and spacebar
after indeed... but I corrected it. Very irritating. help please... the
cursor moves at random
