Landscap printing problems.

I have an Epson Stylus Color 1520 wide format printer on which I need to
print in landscape mode running Windows XP Pro. When I try to set up using
11 X 17 paper in landscape the dialog box shows a square page and only
prints to this square patern. If I try portrait the dialog box shows a
rectangular page and prints the full page. Switching back to landscape
retuns the square page without changing any set up dimensions. I have
contacted Epson and they said they gave the drivers to Microsoft for use in
XP and it is not their problem. Has anyone else come upon this problem and
hopefully solved it. One time I removed XP completely, reformatted the hard
drive, installed Windows ME and the printer worked fine. I reinstalled XP
and it worked for a few months and then reverted to the present condidion.
It has the same condition regerdless of what program I happen to be using to
set up the document. Any input would be appreciated.
