Laptop crashed

Posted: 02-27-2004, 04:13 AM
I have a Compaq Presario running Windows XP Home (less
ham year old) I used the restore to factory image disc.
After doing so, I believe I got a couple of viruses and
began to have problems. In an attempt to try it again, I
used the disc again. It seemed to work fine but when it
restarted I got a "Load Error" message and it goes to an
A:\ prompt. I took it to a local computer shop and they
told me it was "Toast"! Is there anything I can try
before shipping it off to Compaq/HR for repairs?
