Large File Transfer From CD-ROM

I have saved my digital video files as SVCD as I dont
have a DVD writer as yet

However - when I try to copy them from the CD back to the
hard drive I get an MS-DOS error and the transfer stops.

These are large files usually aroung 400Mb.
