Last two days almost no other problems with RC1 than installation failure...

In the circumstances the only sensible option
dealing with RC1 would be - not to try install BETA from
home burned DVD, but to get one from Microsoft and then
install RC1 probably with more success...-

now this is a good idea... I ordered the DVD Thursday. We'll see what happens.

Now it looks like my Liteon DVD player's ready for the scrap heap; It
wouldn't open so I had to insert a small screwdriver in the hole to extract a
DVD and now thwe light stays on continuously and the door doesn't open using
the button. I had to disable the device in Device Mgr or my computer would
run slow, even disabled the light stay on continuously and the tray won't
slide out unless I stick a screwdriver in the hole.

I'll write to Liteon about this but how cheap a new drive would be it
wouldn't be cost effective to RMA it; plus I'll get a copy of Nero 7 for free.

I spoke to several people and exchanged opinion on line
with those who had the same problems with installation
as we had, all of them are of opinion, that there is something
wrong with downloading configuration of RC1 and this
might be a reason we're having all these troubles.
Hopefully the DVD we'll get from Microsoft will be
free of this "bug"...-
