left louder thatn right

when i use sound recorder or muxicmatch to record sounds
using the wave out mix the playback is off the left
channel sounds louder than the right (not a speaker
problem because mp3 and wav playback of songs from a cd or
artist sounds fine) even when i record the songs i made
the left channel is still louder on the cd (or one is
louder than the other)and when i use the left right
balance it just moves the sound to one side the middle or
center souds are now moved to the left or right depending
on what channel needs more volume. i heard that some dell
pc's have the same problem can anyone help??????????
