LEXBCE Server

Posted: 08-27-2003, 12:07 AM
I have a i3 printer. I tried installing the printer on
his XP OS and the Lexbces.exe has created an error and the
spooler is no longer being started ( because the printer
spooler is dependent on the Lexbce server). So i am
unable to install his printer, be it Lexmark or any other
printer. I deleted the lexbces.exe after stopping the
Lexbces services. But that too doesnt seem to help.
Whenever I tried starting the spooler it said that "the
dependency service or group failed to start" (error# 1068
in microsoft database). I beleive that Lexbce server has
to be deleted to get the spooler running, but i cant
figure out how (i am bad at editing the registry). I
beleive Microsoft can do that, as i think they have
certain softwares that can make the spooler independent of
Lexbces, but I am not too sure about it. Also under
administrative tools >> Services>> Lexbce Server is
appearing even after the deletion has been made. So is
there someting we can do? I would also be happy with a
workaround. please assist.....

Bruce Sanderson has written a specific article on the Lexmark problems...

See the Lexmark specific parts of

Have given up on lexmark X73 printer working with winxp
and have uninstalled it. However still have LexBce Server
listed as a dependency in print spooler properties.Does
anyone know how to remove this?
Grateful for any advice.

Lexmark does, they have a special utility to cleanup the driver install.
