Lexmark Multifunction Sharing Issue

I have an XP home with a Lexmark x43 multi function and
can't seem to print from another workgroup PC (win98) to
this unit. It is connected to the "host" system via usb,
the computers see each other just fine in network
neighborhood, can share files, cd's, etc. When i try to
setup the mfc on the 98 box, it sees it, but cannot
communicate with it. Any one know of any know issues with
Multifunction printers and print sharing with XP & 98
boxes?
