LEXMARK X1190

Posted: 10-17-2005, 02:46 AM
I have purchased a lexmark x1190 multifunction printer and installed the
correct way.Have printed off test pages before reboot and all seems ok.But on
reboot I get a blue screen with the following error
message,,,"BAD_POOL_CALLER".
I have been in touch with lexmark who just dont have a clue.
I am using windows xp home with sp2.
I tried uninstalling sp2 but the same problem,if i disconnect the USB
connection from printer, all is ok,so i tried a new cable,no good,i tried
another USB port,no good,I tried downloading software from site,no good.
Printer works fine on M.E or WIN XP PRO

Any help would be greatly appreciated,on verge of throwing it out the
window!!!

Lexmark who appear baffled by it.My computers fine until the instal of this

It sounds like a driver issue to me. My Lexmark came with a driver disk,
yours? Did you check Lexmark's site for a possible driver update? Good
luck!

hi Peter, yes i did get a drivers disc with the printer and tried Lexmarks
site for an update but all there was at the time was a patch for the
languages at the time, they have now put the software on their site but still
i get the same problem.Asked microsoft via email, got refered to calling them
at an extorsionate cost for a download. It seems cheeper for me to buy a new
printer.Lexmark are a waste of time, they keep trying to pass it off as a
problem with my operating system and that i would not get same error message
on 2 different computers,but i do.

I will keep you informed though.

thanks....kev

That's too bad. I like Lexmark for one reason only, they are cheap and do
what they are expected to do, most of the time. But when they screw
up...weeell. Time to get a new one. My 1st one broke down within 3 months
and they sent me a replacement just like that, didn't bother with the broken
one..said "recycle it" ...maybe that's why I'm (sort of) loyal.
