LG DVD RW drive not working

Posted: 05-26-2006, 01:30 AM
I downloaded Beta 2 and burned it to a DVD. I installed Vista from the dvd
with no issues but now when i try to install or copy anything off any DVD i
get an error. The drive worked fine in XP.

DVD
LG DVDRAM GSA-4081B ATA
Error is
Unexpected Error preventing this operation.
Error 0x8007045D: This request could not be performed because of an I/O
device error.

Thanks
Dave

Have you tried uninstalling from Device Manager, restart the system and see
if it redetects it?

I uninstalled the dvd, rebooted, and when Vista came back up it recognized
the dvd and reinstalled it. The same problem continues to happen.

Have you checked LGs website to see if there are any firmware updates for
that drive? If not, file a report using the Feedback link on your desktop.

I got it fixed.
I had 2 DVD drives in the comp, one was an old one Vista didnt recognize as
a legit drive. I disconnected the older drive and switched the newer one to
master and now it works great!
