phone line hooked up. When computor new was using dial-up internet and FAX
worked fine. Now using DSL. Internet works fine.
Messages when sending FAX: No dial tone. Phone line in use or not connected
Messages when receiving FAX: Errore occured when receiving FAX

DSL or Cable cannot be used to send a Fax. Use dial-up modem only or
use a 3rd party Fax such as eFax.com

I have the same problem as Bobm3 and when I try to use dial-up modem I get
the same. Wonder if my hook-up might be the problem? From the wall to a
splitter/filter with one line to DSL modem and second Line to Computer 56K
modem. Maybe you can straighten me out.

Thanks
B

By design, DSL and POTS (plain old telephone service) coexist on the same
2-wire connection. Filters on all telephone apparatus connected to the line
(anywhere in the house) prevent interference with the DSL signal. So, if your
connection is: wall to splitter input, splitter out 1 to DSL, and splitter
out 2 to filter and then to fax, things should work.

To rule out a failure in your connecting hardware, disconnect the line from
the filter out to the fax modem input, and connect a regular telephone to the
filter instead. You should have a dial tone and be able to place calls, with
or without DSL operating. If you can not do this, you'll need to replace your
splitter and/or filter (or the wire). If the phone works, post back and we'll
see if we can track things down further.
