| I am working with Excel 2002 in a Windows XP environment.
|
| Doing a hyperlink from within my Customer Contact Info
| Worksheet directly to the "Get Directions" screen at
| MapQuest was really simple with the hyperlink insertion
| utility on the Insert Drop Down Menu.
|
| However, since we have the computer doing all the work shy
| of a click of the mouse or a tap of an Enter Key, why not
| have the hyperlink address include the necessary
| references to automatically load the Customer's Street,
| City, State and Zip Code with that same press of the
| finger?
|
| My Worksheet is entitled 'Customer Contact Info'! when
| linking within the Workbook.
|
| My Worksheet was set-up with small width cells due to the
| various other pieces of Contact information. The full
| width of the sheet runs from cell A to cell AH thus, the
| MapQuest input comes from the following cells:
|
| Street Name: Cells H45:AG45 MERGED INTO A SINGLE ENTRY
| FIELD.
|
| City Name: Cells H47:AG47 MERGED INTO A SINGLE ENTRY
| FIELD.
|
| State Name: Cells H49:T49 MERGED INTO A SINGLE ENTRY
| FIELD
| which is MUCH WIDER than
| necessary.
|
| Zip Code: Cells X49:AB49 These are INDIVIDUAL CELLS
| for the first five (5)
| digits
|
| and, Cells AD49:AG49 are INDIVIDUAL CELLS
| for the last four (4)
| digits
|
| I have tried editing the hyperlink formula using
|
| 1) the Merged Cell ranges AND
| 2) the first Cell of the Merged Cells BOTH
| 3) WITH and WITHOUT the Worksheet Name.
|
| But, this information in any one of these formats is simply
| transferred to MapQuest in their literal structure rather
| than loading the information within the cells as would be
| done from Worksheet to Worksheet within Excel.
|
| How do I structure the hyperlink formula to load the true
| address information as it is entered into the various cell
| ranges to be recognized by the MapQuest search engine for
| directions?
|
| I do have to be careful in regards to the length of my
| Cell ID because there is a 255-character limit to the
| hyperlink formula.
