defaults to "MSHOME" and Windows 98 usually defaults to "WORKGROUP".
2) Make sure XP's firewall is disabled. It is not enabled by default but if
you enabled it then turn it off.
3) Make sure you have File and Printer sharing enabled on both computers.
4) Create an IP Address for both systems. For the XP system you could use
(example only) 192.168.10.1 and for the Win98 system you could use
192.168.10.2
5) Use the same Subnet Mask for both computer - 255.255.255.0
6) You may need to reboot the Win98 system after setting up your Network
Properties.
7) Share the drive you want to share by right clicking the drive and select
Sharing.
That should do it I think.
