When upgrading from ME to XP Home (SP1 installed with
original CD), XP will not recognize the drivers for my
Linksys WUSB11 v. 2.5 wireless card. The driver files
(.inf and .sys) are physically located on the C drive and
when I point the add hardware wizard to the directory in
which the .inf and .sys files reside (all downloaded from
linksys' site and considered signed), XP tells me no
drivers are there and suggests searching the internet for
drivers. Since I cannot connect from that computer, that
choice is useless.
I spent long times with linksys and ms tech support on the
phone with no resolution. Each company blames the other.
Imagine that?
In any event, I have the exact same wireless card working
on another XP home computer perfectly, so I know it can
work if I can get XP to recognize the driver.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
