Local Printer on Networked Notebook

Posted: 10-02-2006, 07:12 PM
I have a user with a notebook. He has a printer at home that he uses with
the notebook. When he connects to our network at work he experiences extreme
loading times for Word and Excel documents. We're talking minutes here. As
soon as the home printer is removed files open up right away. This happens
with network files and files stored on his local drive. Also the default
printer is a network printer here at work. Is there anyway to stop the
notebook from "looking" for the phantom printer? I assume that's what's
happening.

Thanks
