Location of Shadow Copy data?

I'm really pleased that this is now on a desktop version of Windows, as I
don't have to save multiple files as I work on them, in case I make a
mistake and need to go back.

But as I have just re-installed the OS, and I have noticed that I get roll
back on the files I have been working on. This is no problem, but it makes
me wonder where this data is stored? I know that only the changes to a file
are kept, but where? If this data is still on thr drives I want to know
where I can go do delete it.
