| Guys I have a company laptop running xp pro. I booted on safemode to remove some files that I could not in normal mode from an application that I uninstalled. Problem is that I used msconfig to do this and now I can not log in with my regular computer account. I do not have the administrator account so I am locked out. I tried to use F8 to choose boor in normal mode but the tool seems to have modified the boot ini file and "that is" its new normal mode. Anyone can help on what I can do to get to a normal boot? I have another machine running xp pro...just in case I could use a tool there thanks | Guest

| If you can return to Safe Mode, boot to Safe Mode again, go to Start, type msconfig in the run box, press enter, go to the Boot.ini tab, remove the check next to /SAFEBOOT, click apply and ok. Now, you should be able to boot back to the desktop. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "G" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:021CFC2C-0716-407C-9F24-FEA03AAB2196@microsoft.com...
