A Log On Error: Please Help

My Wnxp restarts and scnadisk is scheduled and aafter it
it shows that the sysytem has recovered from a seroius
error.

Is this the result of trying to run chkdsk or is this a random event that
could occur at any time while you are running the system? Does it happen
during the performance of a specific task, if yes, what task? Or, is this
an issue that happens when you have scheduled chkdsk to run the next time
you reboot.
