Login problem

Posted: 12-07-2003, 03:53 PM
Windows XP Home Edition
Laptop - Fujitsu P Model

Try to login in but it logs off right away....
here is sequence of events:

Click User (Admin) account

1. Loading personal settings...
2. Logging off...
3. Saving your settings...

Already tried Safe Mode but it kept me logging off.

Boot on floppy disk and access C: drive and delete
some .jpg files to free disk space... no luck!

I have some important client files to recover.

HELP!!!

Thanks!

For future reference, this is wrong news group. You should go to
windowsxp.general. This one is for different kind of OS.

If you can't access at least one account then there is little you can do
from within XP.

You can try to boot with recovery console (from CD) and try to repair what
ever that happened. Or move HDD to other computer so you can copy data you
need.

BTW:
What did you do? Have you run out of virtual memory during login procedure,
or something else happened?

Slobodan

I am sorry, desperate in dire needs of different ideas.
I must admit since I don't have any back-up, I would try
to hook-up the drive to another computer.

Thank you for you advice.

it seems like accidently u have changed or XP itself
understood and changed hard disk letter (c:\ to d:\ or
something else).
This usually happen when you install Windows OS in other
drive than C: (let say d since windows blindly assumes
d:\ is c:\ for it and comes up with this error.

i am afraid, you may need to reinstall OS unless you can
access registry (reedit and change drive letter)

Good luck!
