lost start bar from screen and all icons. How do i get them back

Lost the start bar and all icons from screen. Tried
fixing with aol diagnistic and start bar and icons
reappeared but dissapeared when rebooted.

Do you know how you lost them in the first place. Did you install some
software.

Try posting this to microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support, you may
find more people responding to this.
