Hi, I B Sweet,
The fan in my P.C. groans, and growls, on start up for a few minutes, and it
is very dust free.
It's just a junk quality product, supplied to make the cost lower, just to
pass the warranty period, and max. the profit.
What I do is lay the tower on its side, and no more noise. For a few days.
Stand it up, and the noise
comes back. Sound like a dry bearing, and perhaps the grease finds a new
position, whist on its side ?

For any fan other than the CPU fan, I find that a little WD40 sprayed
on a swab and applied to the shaft by the blades will stop this. :-)

In my case it was the 3.5 floppy drive that had died. I unplugged the power
to it and it stopped (since replaced it).
