Making a .dll into an .inf

Well I'd like to install it on this machine (XP) and it
has a setup program. its really a self-extracting zip that
extracts to C: and runs the Setup.exe automatically. So
your saying, edit my registries so that it should read to
those .dll files?

If the setup program antedates WinXP, as it sounds as if it may, it
almost certainly won't work properly with WinXP! You need either an
XP-aware .inf file and the appropriate .dlls. or an XP-aware Setup.exe
file (which would create and/or organise the files that you need).
There is no way of turning .dlls into .inf files - they have totally
different formats, contents, and functions. If you knew exactly what
to do and if you were sure that you had XP-compatible driver files,
you might be able to set things up by editing the Registry, but this
is obviously not the case.

Could it be your cable? I understand Polaroid has a USB cable that works with this
camera. It is the serial/usb for a Fun Flash 640SE. I found this information on a
forum.
The drivers that are floating around the internet work with this cable to allow full
use of the camera.

Have you tried EarthLink for drivers?

A) Earthlink doesn't have any support for it, they just
gave it away for free. It would be Xircom to go to, but
their out of business
B) The cable should be working fine, it used to work, but
I dont know why it wouldn't now.
Looking for a new cable would be hectic because I'd
probably have to buy a new camera, and the pictures I need
are already on this camera.

>You need to establish exactly who manufactured the

camera then visit their website support pages for the
correct XP drivers which are by the way Dynamic Link
Libraries just like all the rest but specifically written
to operate under the XP system, conversions of this type
might work but I doubt you will have success, However if
you can locate the Dll in the system folder for the
camera then it is installed just that the operating
system has not registered were it put the driver, go to
the system appellet and call up the device manager, look
up the IMAGING DEVICES section and expand it, if the
camera is there then double click it and the properties
page will come up now look up the driver from the header,
this page will give you a breif explanation on what state
the camera is in and if any faults have occured with it's
function during boot, if it says that no driver is
installed then click on update and follow the prompts to
allow you to select the place to instal from, then direct
it to the driver file in the windows system folder and
click ok, it should then find the driver, if this does
not work then retrace your steps and again tell it to
update, this time allowing it to look on the internet for
the correct driver, hope this helps.
