Richard,

This could be due to may different reasons. I had similar problems with
XP-Pro but managed to resolve.

As a start...

1) I think there are some known issues with VPN if you have XP built in
firewall enabled or some other 3rd party firewalls. Try disabling
temporarily and see if that makes any difference. If not then put firewall
back on.

2) This little article I found on the net did the trick for me, epecially
the bit about entering DNS and WINS (if your server has it running?)
settings on the XP client in VPN TCP/IP settings.

Thanks for the info. I essentially used the article to
work through the WINS configuration (it was running on
the NT Server that I connect through anyway) and presto,
I can now map the drives. Thanks again.
