Margin Problems : Footer - Page Number cut in half at printing

This problem has been addressed several times over the past six months
or so. I spent a lot of time trying to solve this problem myself, and
eventually posted several lengthy descriptions of how to fix it.
Search the archives for 'footer problems', or perhaps for my name,
'gallaher' or 'ejgallaher'.

The short answer is: From within Word choose File > Page Setup. Browse
-all- the menus and options to become familiar with them. They will
differ somewhat depending upon your installed printer driver(s), and
perhaps even upon the printer you happen to be using at the time (or
at least the printer you select from the print dialog box).

I found that I should set the printer to 'any printer' rather than
any of the brand names that I print to. Then I created (and SAVED) a
custom page with a larger bottom margin. For some reason the default
has been changed from 0.25" in previous versions of Word to 0.56" in
Word X. (Who knows . . . ?)

Others have reported that this should be done within your own printer
page specs, but I found I could not save custom pages this way.

Also, I was fooled into thinking I could edit the proprietary page
specs (since the edit option was available), but these changes were
never saved (despite pushing the save button). Silly me . . .

Surprisingly, I found I could get my margins as close as 3/16" from
the edge of the page (top, bottom, right, and left) with my Lexmark
E312 printer. This is closer than even the Lexmark specs indicate.
