Mass storage devices not visible in Explorer

Posted: 02-10-2004, 03:23 PM
My clients Sony laptop does not show mass storage devices
in Windows Explorer when they are plugged into a USB
port. They seem to be detected as a sound effect plays
when one is plugged in to the computer.

I am also offered the option to stop the device in the
tray. When I unplug the mass storage device from the USB
port, I again get a Windows sound effect.

I have tested both the mass storage devices and the USB
ports. Other devices such as mice seem to be working on
the ports.
