Massive CPU usage

Windows XP HomeEdition.
MovieMaker2.0

Whenever i try to go ahead and work on a movie, my MM takes a huge chunk of
my RAM. After reading days of messages and helpful hints from here and
PapaJohns website, im out of ideas.

I've also had the crash and freeze thing, but its seemingly solved by making
a new user account on my comp.

Maybe it's time to install MM2.1 with SP2.... or could you already have SP2
and a mixed bag of MM2.0 and MM2.1 files, which results in issues?

wow, i've tried for the last couple of days trying to update my moviemaker.
In the "about", it shows up as "Movie Maker Version 2.0.3312.0"

trying to download "2.1" through the updates just doesnt want to work.
my version is missing the "compatibility" tab also, so its tedious and
painsteaking to handle codecs.

i've also tried some help on installing and whatnot. but no dice.

=====================================
Movie Maker 2.1 is not a separate download...
it must be installed as a component of WinXP SP2.

Download Windows XP SP2
http://tinyurl.com/6ubys

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.
