Hi all! I would like to install the Beta version of Windows Vista... does
anybody know if McAfee can work with it? I had to uninstall IE7 because I
wasn't able to upgrade the antivirus nor launch a scan :S ...
Thanks for any reply

Hi all! Does anybody know if McAfee can work with the Beta of Windows Vista?
I had to uninstall IE7 because I could neither scan my pc for viruses nor
upgrade the antivirus software, so I wouldn't like to install WV uselessly :/
Thanks for any reply

we use VSE 8.0 here. I had a look on the mcAfee site and it looks like it
should work but you'd need to update manually. it installed for me (but
said there were known compatability issues) Its running (including the
framework service) but I cant manually run an update or configure a new
update task. I'll try running a sdat file next.

Think Andre posted a list of known working AV apps yesterday, If your
concerned look down the list a bit and try one of them.

This one is free for 12 months, got it installed on Vista and it is
working fine. Can't comment on how good it is yet as Vista is a lot
better protected by UAC in the first place and there is not much about
aimed at Vista specifically but it runs, updates, conext scans and
generally does the AV thing without being intrusive. E mail is covered
also but I have not set e mail up on vista yet.

I would say that given a choice of McAfee bloatware and CA ETrust AV I
would go for the latter every time.
